6 Ways to Get Your Day Off to a Good Start


Want to ensure that your day starts with a bang and not a boom?  Establish a solid morning routine using these 6 steps:

  1. Once you open your eyes, take 5 deep diaphragmatic breaths  (inhale through your nose for a count of 5 allowing your belly to rise; hold for a count of 5; exhale through pursed lips for a count of 5) – then get OUT of bed
  2. Meditate even if only for 5 minutes
  3. Journal – write down 5 to 10 things you are grateful for
  4. Exercise for 20 minutes – walk outside, ride your bike, do Yoga whatever you want, just move
  5. Read 15 pages of something positive and uplifting or listen to something of the same
  6. Set an intention for how you want the day to go

The key to feeling the positive effects of these 6 steps is making it a daily practice–practice makes permanent.
