Working From Home…The Right Ways

Dedicated home office space

We discussed the wrong ways to work from home during these very scary times of ours. Now let’s talk about the right ways.
Maintain a schedule as if you are going to the office. Get up, shower, get dressed, have breakfast, get your cup of Joe. This also means you have to get to bed at the same time, just as if you are getting in your car or on the train and going to work.

Create a work space using a coffee table and chair

Create a separate space that you will only use for work. If your apartment doesn’t really enable you to do this, devote a space in the living room, using a coffee table and chair to work from. Request that family members refrain from disturbing you during this time.

No choice but to work from the couch? That is fine. Make sure that you are sitting up as straight as possible. Cast your EYES down towards the screen instead of flexing your NECK down at the screen which will strain your neck

Working for a couch is ok as long as you are supported and in alignment

The most important thing to do, whether you are working from home or at the office, (whenever that happens), is to MOVE! Set timer to go off every 30 minutes to remind you to get up. Walk around, do 20 jumping jacks, stretch. Below are some stretches to incorporate into your work day.
