The Pomodoro Technique involves setting a timer for 25-minute chunks of time and focusing on one specific task. After that task is complete, you take a 5-minute break. Every 4 Pomodoros, the breaks increase to between 15 and 30 minutes.
This technique accomplishes 2 things:
- Intense focus on a specific task without distraction
- Movement after prolonged sitting reducing stiffness and increasing circulation
The heart of this technique is that the 25-minute unit of time cannot be broken–not to check an email, answer a phone or watch Tik Tok.
